Your Role

As a Test Automation Engineer, you are not only technically skilled but also act as a consultant directly with our clients. You analyze automation challenges, develop smart solutions, and confidently represent Qnit at the client’s side. You design, execute, and maintain automated tests while ensuring meaningful documentation and reporting.
Your tasks
  • Advise our clients on suitable quality assurance measures
  • Design, execute & maintain automated tests using tools such as Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, Robot Framework, Rest Assured, Postman (and others)
  • Manage testing and reporting (e.g., with Xray)
  • Present test results and derive improvements
  • Act independently: identify optimization opportunities and uncover potential in further areas (e.g., test strategy, test management at the client)
Your profile
Professional Qualifications

  • Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
    – alternatively: completed vocational training with practical experience
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in test automation and test architecture (ideally with Cypress/Playwright)
  • Experience and understanding of common test types: unit, integration, API, and end-to-end tests
  • Programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or C#
  • Basic understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS – e.g., selectors in UI tests); knowledge of modern frameworks such as Angular or React is a plus (no active programming required)
  • Confident handling of version control (Git)
  • Basic understanding of CI/CD workflows(e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) and their integration into test automation
  • Experience with test management and reporting tools (ideally Jira/Xray)
  • ISTQB CTFL certification or higher

  • You can expect a salary that is based on your individual qualifications and your position-relevant professional experience in accordance with the KV classification (from €3,500 - €4,000). There will be an overpayment in line with the market.
